Soft-tissue surgery involves the operation on parts of the body other than the nervous and musculoskeletal system. The most common soft tissue surgery performed on pets is the removal of masses or lumps. Once removed, masses can be sent to a laboratory for further testing. In most cases lumps can be benign, however occasionally they can be more serious. Early removal and accurate diagnosis of a lump is necessary to improve the outcome in your pet if the mass is cancerous.
Soft-tissue can also involve ear, nose and throat, cardiothoracic, hepatic, gastrointestinal, urogenital, skin reconstruction and oncological surgeries.
